RESUMO

O presente trabalho trata do problema do mal e do sofrimento e suas objeções à existência de Deus. A proposta inicial é verificar se realmente a existência do mal anula a existência de Deus. A partir da metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica foi desenvolvida uma abordagem histórica, filosófica e teológica sobre o tema. Ao longo do trabalho ficou constatado que a existência do mal não consegue provar de maneira cabal que Deus não existe. O argumento filosófico do mal contra Deus se mostrou não ser a principal fonte que leva a negação de Deus também ficou evidenciado que o deus retratado pelo presente argumento não é o mesmo Deus relatado na Bíblia. Neste sentido o trabalho foi direcionado para uma abordagem bíblica sobre o problema do mal e do sofrimento com o intuito de verificar como a Bíblia lida com a questão. No decorrer do processo o problema do mal se mostrou muito mais sério do que uma objeção intelectual o qual pede por uma solução que vá além de uma mera resposta intelectual satisfatória ao argumento filosófico do mal. É na busca de uma solução mais abrangente que vá além de teorias e argumentos meramente intelectuais que o trabalho foi desenvolvido.

ABSTRACT

This paper addresses the problematic of evil and suffering and its objections concerning the existence of God. The initial proposal is to inquire if the existence of evil negate the existence of God. A historical, philosophical, and theological approach has been developed from the methodology of the bibliographic research regarding the proposed theme. Throughout the work, it has been found that the existence of evil cannot thoroughly prove the inexistence of God. The philosophical argument of evil against God, is not the main source that leads to the negation of God. Furthermore, it has become evident that the image of god given by this argument is not the same image of the God given by the bible. Here the paper took an approach that sought a biblical analysis about the problem of evil and suffering, with the intent to verify how the Bible deals with the question. It has been realized along the development of the paper, that the problem of evil has proven itself a lot more serious then only an intellectual objection, which requires a solution that goes beyond the mere satisfactory intellectual answer to the philosophical argument of evil. Thus this paper has been made, seeking a more in-depth solution that goes beyond theories and arguments of the intellectual sort.
